Aqauline widebeam makes a splash!
July’s issue of Waterway’s World has a massive 5 page article extolling the virtues of Aqualine’s widebeam craft – the Canterbury. Writer Mark Langley runs his keen Technical Editor’s eye over every aspect of the boat to almost microscopic level, whilst putting it through its paces on the Trent & Mersey Canal. Not surprisingly the Canterbury came through with flying colours on all areas receiving impressive comment on the quality of steelwork, paint finish, internal specification and handling. Written with a more technical angle the article gives a refreshingly and slightly different view of the features of an Aqualine widebeam. And of course it’s independent. Read the full article here
EDITION BOATS TO BE ON SHOW AT CRICK 29-31 MAY.
The New & Used Boat Co. will be showing off two of Aqualine’s newest boats at Crick this year – The Manhattan SE and The Canterbury LE. These spectacular boats are from the very new Editions range and are boats that have a whole new interior design approach, combing subtle touches and design detail with striking new features to create a superbly refined and contemporary living environment. Based on feedback from customers, each boat in the Editions range is individual with different features, paint finishes and fittings and are a great addition to an already wide and successful range. Launched earlier this year at the NEC Boat & Caravan Show, both boats proved to be highly popular with the Canterbury LE being bought by a visitor to the show. Make sure you visit the Aqualine stand at Crick and be sure to check out these refreshing boats for yourself. The New & Used Boat Co team look forward to welcoming you.
NEC Boat & Caravan Show, 2010

This year the NEC Boat & Caravan Show takes place from February 23rd to the 28th. Aqualine will be exhibiting as a manufacturer in their own right this year and have a narrow and wide beam boat on display. For narrow beam enthusiasts the new Manhattan SE, which was first seen at a VIP Preview day in November, will have it’s first public appearance at a boat show. This boat is based on the existing Manhattan layout but with a number of design enhancements, which have proven very popular with those who have already seen the boat.
The Canterbury wide beam on display is also a new model which has been updated to include a new design of cabinetry, an increase to the already generous storage space, and a hand-crafted galley painted in Farrow & Ball paint.
Aqualine boats are always popular - why not visit Aqualine at stand number 1048 and see how their range can fulfill your boating dreams. For more information on the show visit www.boatandcaravan.co.uk
Manhattan SE Launch
Manhattan SE Launch
On Saturday 14th November the Blisworth office held a Preview Day to showcase the new Manhattan design, the Manhattan SE. This boat is similar to the existing Manhattan design, with a bedroom at the stern and the saloon at the bow, but the design and specification of this boat has been taken to another level and the customers who attended were very impressed.
From the painted galley with hardwood worksurface to the stainless inlay in the gunwhale trim and the stylish contrast border in the hardwood floor, this boat looks exceptional. To view the Manhattan SE for yourself visit our Blisworth office, which is open 7 days a week.
As one customer said: “Design and specification is brilliant. Great lines, very crisp and clean. Low level radiators give great spacious effect, stable doors at the bow, brilliant idea. Fantastic nooks and crannies for storage. All round winner!!”
Recent VAT ruling
HM Customs and Excise have recently ruled on the zero rating of certain types of vessels when used for solely residential purposes (and as your prime residence). Each case is viewed on an individual basis and the VAT office uses a specific formula to calculate the gross registered tonnage (this is not weight) and this decides, along with residential circumstances, whether the craft can be zero-rated. We expect that a 60ft x 11ft Aqualine Canterbury would be a qualifying ship, as would our Voyager Dutch Barge, but as each case is viewed individually please contact us directly if you wish to discuss this further.
